How to Get to Fenfushi Island

Fenfushi Island

Fenfushi Island is located in the heart of South Ari Atoll, surrounded by luxury resorts. It is approximately 111 km southwest of Velana International Airport. Multiple transfer options are available daily, catering to different budgets and travel preferences.

1. Fenfushi Public Speedboat Ferry (Daily Except Friday)

  • Departure from the island : 6:45 Every morning (except Friday)
  • Departure from male/airport: 3:00 PM daily
  • Duration: Approx. 2 hours
  • Capacity: 30–40 passengers (36–38 ft speedboats)
  • Seating: Comfortable cushioned seats (some boats have individual airplane-style seats)
  • Amenities: Drinking water available, crew assistance provided
  • Luggage Allowance: Up to 40 kg per person
  • Price: $45–$55 per person, one way

While the journey can sometimes be a bit bumpy, the experience of traveling across the Maldivian waters is truly breathtaking!

2. Alternative Early Speedboat via Dhigurah

If you prefer an earlier arrival to the island, you can take morning 10:45 speedboat ferries from Male/airport to Dhigurah, and we will arrange a pickup from Dhigurah to Fenfushi.

  • Schedule: Must be checked and confirmed before booking
  • Price: $95 per person up to fenfushi, one way

This option provides flexibility for those wanting to reach Fenfushi earlier in the day and those who arrives on Friday. 

2. Domestic Flight + Speedboat (Fast & Convenient)

For those looking to save time, domestic flights offer a quick 20-minute journey, followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to Fenfushi.

  • Flights Available: Three times daily (morning, midday, afternoon).
  • Total Travel Time: Under 40 minutes from the airport to the hotel.
  • Advantages:
    ✅ No wasted time—arrive at the hotel within hours of landing in the Maldives.
    ✅ Flexible departure—choose a flight that suits your international schedule.
  • Price: $145 per person, one way (includes speedboat transfer).

3. Seaplane Transfer (Scenic & Luxurious)

Experience a breathtaking aerial view of the Maldives with a 20-minute seaplane flight, landing on a floating platform near Fenfushi. Our team will pick you up for a short boat ride to the hotel.

  • Capacity: Maximum 18 passengers per flight.
  • Total Travel Time: Approx. 25 minutes.
  • Price: $200 per person, one way (includes speedboat transfer).

4. Public Ferry (Most Affordable Option)

For budget travelers, the MTCC public ferry connects Male to Fenfushi with stops at Mahibadhoo, Dhagethi, and Dhigurah islands.

  • Departure from Male: 10:00 AM (MTCC Ferry Terminal) → Arrives at Mahibadhoo at 12:00 PM.
  • Route: Mahibadhoo → Dhagethi → Dhigurah → Fenfushi.
  • Fenfushi Arrival: 4:30 PM.
  • Price:
    • Male to Mahibadhoo: $15 per person.
    • Each island transfer: $5 per person.

This is a great option for island hopping on a budget! Stay at Dhagethi for watersports, Dhigurah for diving, and Fenfushi for whale shark snorkeling before heading back to Male.
